I have no idea why I'm even bothering to do an entry, as I have nothing to say. But all three kids are playing nicely together and I don't wanted to move from my perch in front of the computer for fear of disrupting their play

i hear you, the obligation holiday party blows. can't blow em off, eh?
Champale. Man, haven't heard that referred to in a while. When my parents had each of us, 5 total, they would buy a bottle of champagne to mark the occasion and save the bottle w/ the child's name and date on it. By the time Mary, my youngest sister, was born in 1973, the celebratory bottle had gone from champagne to the 12-oz. bottle of pink Champale.
Man, married 5 times. That's crazy, huh? Gold Chevelle is pretty sweet. So what was her professional life, how old is she now, and how long has she had alzheimers?
No way that they did a bottle of Champale for Mary's birth!
Yeah, 5 marriages is pretty crazy -- just a testament to her romantic optimism I've always thought. But it's like anything in life -- when you hear the stories of all the husbands, it's not nearly as scandalous as it sounds. My mom was terrified that I was/is going to follow in my grandmother's marital footsteps, especially being divorced myself at a relatively young age -- apparently I'm like her in a lot of ways. She was a director of a nursing home (hence her insistence that she never be in a nursing home & the fact that she signed a living will years before it became "the thing to do"). She's 80-ish. She was diagnosed with Alzheimers about 7 years ago.
