Funny you should ask

1. A movie. I liked 21 Grams. Harsh, gritty lives and out of sequence editing that provides a different type of tension, cuz you know what's gonna happen at some points, but you don't know how or by whom.

2. A book. Seabiscuit. First book in a while I could not put down. For fiction, Human Stain by Philip Roth is amazing.

3. A musical artist, song, or album. Lambchop. Nashville 13-piece band whose albums are like collections of short stories. "Nixon" is great, as is "What Another Man Spills." Their EP "Hank" is a good intro to them. If you want some fun, bluesy good-time music, get Grandpaboy's "Dead Man Shake." Sounds real Stonesy and probably Paul Westerberg's best solo album, I think.
