State of the homefront

I'm sad and kind of angry. My dad lost his job this week. He's worked for this company for twenty years and they just killed his whole department. Him, all his work friends, sent packing. He has a lead on a new job but it only gives two weeks vacation and he's 61. He deserves to travel and spend time with grandchildren and... this whole country is ( Read more... )

It is horrible how corporations treat people like disposable, fungible moving parts. I'm so sorry this happened to your family.

I'm sorry to hear that. I was laid off last October. Things are bad here in California, with the foreclosures and cuts. I've been so mad at Wall Street, I immediately joined the occupy movement and feel like I'm making a difference.
