So that's how you spend your days when you have no work. Very interesting!

Actually its how I spent my last day at the job I was doing. Since they were closing the place down we didn't have any actual work coming in and I spent it a small part of it doing ngam searches in Google. They dont take long to do (seconds actually) unless you are going deeper and looking at the the source books (which I did for a little while, having nothing else to do).

When I was home I then just saved the search results as graphics I could embed in the post - so the time spent at home was in making this LJ post.

However, I do read extensively on a range of subjects in my spare time (especially history) and sometimes debate on line and spend time researching for debates, checking the accuracy of things etc. Maybe I just miss being at university and studying. Not that online debates are actually all that comparable as they are often more like trying to debate with a drink down the pub. This was the first time I have ever done any ngram searches, having only just discovered you can do them.
