I am sorry you are having a hard time. My approach might not be what you would do... but here is how i would handle it. Sit her down and ask her how you can be more supportive of her getting the mess clean. Tell her your ulitmate goal isn't to fight, it is to get it clean. Tell her it effects your mental health to live in clutter. Ask her what phrase you can use that won't offend her to get the point across that you are nearing your limit, or what phrase would put her in a more motivated mood to get it clean. Listen to what she says, and then try it. If it also does not work, show her that you tried her way and that it was not working, ask her again. She will see her patterns and fix them. Sometimes it is hard to see how we affect others when we are in a whole lot of stress. Right now, even though you are both in this together and opposing, it is still stress beyond logic in some cases. Just try to help motivate her without putting her on the defensive. It might actually work, or not. Either way, you lose nothing by trying it
