We Will Become Sihouettes by The Postal Service is probably the most disturbing song I've heard in recent memory. It's very good, but the contrast of upbeat music and scary/depressing lyrics creep the hell out of me. It's impressive in its own way.

Today's teenagers are hugging more. Personally, I'm glad to hear this. Hugs are good for you, and for everyone else. Hopefully the next generation will be healthier for it.

I just applied to write for the Pierce County Community News Group. It would be a salaried position writing for a newspaper! Not the Times just yet, but it would certainly be a huge step forward--especially from being a shift sup' at a pizza restaurant. Wish me luck, please.

Yay, the FDA finally approved the HPV vaccine that has been shown to help prevent cervical cancer! They've for once taken the advice of doctors instead of the twits on the religious right who think they have more right to other people's bodies than the other people do, since anyone who might possibly contract and STD deserves to get cancer ( Read more... )

The Princess and the Warrior (Krieger und der Kaiserin) is an excellent film. Same director and female lead as Run Lola Run, and it shows. Fantastic work.

This apartment looks better than is has since I moved in. The bathroom's clean, the kitchen's clean, and the living room has parts of it cleared up (I'm still debating what to do about all of Alysa's stuff). I just need to vacuum. God, it feels good.
