If Obama does nothing else for the remainder of his presidency, he will still go down in history as one of America's most effective presidents. Personally I don't totally agree with socialized health care, but I gotta give it to the guy, he's a master politician, Almost scary good. Im not sure if I like that either ( Read more... )

The bill is far from socialized healthcare, but I think it's still a bit of an improvement. Things are definitely going to be interesting.

Wish it went into effect faster, I'd like to be able to get insurance now, not in 2years. It's been 10years about now since I've had it last.

I'd say that this is more Pelosi myself. That's not to say that Obama didn't have a major hand in it, but I think Pelosi really did the grunt work...unfortunately.

I have mixed feelings. We did need a national health care system, but I was expecting something less civil-war-inspiring.

The problem though is that if it doesn't work, you AREN'T getting rid of it. name me one government organization that has been set up and dismantled. ACORN right now, is being renamed into a dozen other organization that do the exact same thing. Trying is wonderful, IF when you find that something doesn't work, you can remove it.

In fairness, the Congressional dems deserve some of the credit too. Obama may have provided a lot of the "up top" push, but the groundwork was immense in the Capitol.

And, well, this sure as shit isn't socialized medicine, so if that's what you don't want then there's nothing in the bill for you to fear.
