I take it that some pivotal juncture moment happened that year? I generally think that while you can't truly turn back the clock, you can make up for lost time if you are willing to do what it takes.

I don't think there's any way to repair what I screwed up that year, that led to some real screwups the following year. The damage I did to another person during all that will haunt me forever too.
