together forever

Three days passed ever since little Yunho proposed the idea of making babies with his best friend.

Horrified with the thought that he was going to have a huge belly just like their teacher Mrs. Lee, Jaejoong had vehemently said no! Such refusal resulted into numerous chasing scenarios happening one after the other between the two six year olds, and each day the same scene always occurred.

Yunho would be running after Jaejoong, begging and pleading the smaller boy that they got married already because he really wanted to have cute little Jaejoongie babies as soon as possible. Jaejoong of course, horrified boy that he was, always without fail fled from the clutches of his persistent Yunnie-yah.

Fortunately such occurrences didn’t happen for days on end.

The times whenever Yunho or Jaejoong tripped and fell from all the running that they did, for several hours, the two little boys would simply sit side by side cocooned in each other’s embrace, sharing a few kisses from time to time as they gently assure and promise the other to do what the other wanted.

However, a couple of hours later when both were feeling relatively better, and the pain from their fall had subsided, it was always back to the drawing board again. And the chase would start once more.

After giving the situation much thought, Mrs. Lee finally decided to give the Jungs a call. When she was done voicing out her concerns about their son Yunho’s worrisome behavior, the couple came to an agreement.

It wasn’t healthy nor was it safe for the boys to be constantly running around the house or at school. Though at their age it was unavoidable for either of them to get hurt, truth be told, the way Yunho had been acting was also starting to worry his parents. And so they decided to talk with the boy that very night.

But to their surprise, when the two came home from school, Jaejoong wasn’t screaming for Yunho to leave him alone nor did Yunho showed any interest in pestering the smaller boy to make babies any time soon.

“Umma!” Yunho came bouncing out of the car as he practically rushed to his mother’s side.

Mrs. Jung and Mr. Jung’s eyes met in a moment of confusion as the father of the family came out from the driver's seat of the vehicle. Mr. Jung shrugged, actually just quite thankful that his hyperactive son wasn't begging him over and over to be given the permission to marry his Jaejoongie-hyung.

Because apparently, little Yunho found out from a neighbor that when two people were to wed, they had to ask for their parents’ permission and blessing first. And so naturally, that was exactly the thing that Yunho did.

Jaejoong shifted at the end of the passenger’s seat, carefully trying to rest his feet on the ground. Closing the driver seat’s door, Mr. Jung came to little Jaejoong’s aid and lifted him off his spot, placing him into the marbled floor. Smiling brightly, Jaejoong said his thanks as he quickly followed Yunho to her Auntie’s side.

“Hello Auntie.” And just like that Mrs. Jung found another set of arms on her middle.

Smiling lovingly, she crouched down and smothered both boys into a hug before giving each of them a kiss on the cheek. “So how was my angels’ school today?” she asked as she caressed their small smiling faces.

“I got a perfect score in spelling!” Both boys said in unison, twin beaming grins adorning their features.

The next few minutes was spent in major gushing mode as Jaejoong and Yunho shared the things that happened at school, from getting perfect scores and A marks to saving little puppies and playing with their friends Junsu, Yoochun and Changmin. And as she listened, unlike the previous days when both boys got back home and were running amok, it seemed that not even one chasing episode happened that day.

“You think we should still talk to them?” Mr. Jung softly asked his wife as they watched the boys from the small gap of the bedroom door, sleeping soundly, their small arms and legs draped all over each other.

Mrs. Jung turned to her husband and lightly shook her head. “I don’t think it’s needed anymore.”

Sharing a smile and a nod, the couple went to their own bedroom to rest.

Yesterday night

The night air was chilly and despite the windows being firmly locked, the coldness still managed to seep through the windowsill. Yunho turned and groaned on his bed for some time. In his sleep induced thoughts, he was quite sure that something didn’t seem right. Hugging and rubbing his hands against his arms, Yunho then slowly began to realize something. The warmth from his Jaejoong-hyung was missing.

Rubbing and forcing his drowsy eyes open, Yunho turned to his side, reaching out a hand towards the other’s body with every intention to snuggle up with Jaejoong again. However, the sound of his Jaejoongie-hyung’s silent crying voice reached Yunho’s ears, nearly making the small boy jolt upright in worry.

“Hyung?” he asked as he slowly sat up and shifted closer to Jaejoong’s frame. “What’s wrong?” When Jaejoong didn’t answer but continued to sob, Yunho rested a gentle hand on his shoulder. “Jaejoongie.”

Suddenly, Jaejoong turned and flung himself into Yunho’s arms as he cried his heart out. Yunho’s hands instinctively wrapped themselves around Jaejoong’s small shaking frame, rubbing his back with soothing gentle touches, trying to calm down the sobbing best friend. “Jaejoongie-hyung, what’s wrong?”

“Yunnie.” Jaejoong cried, burying his face deeper into the crook of Yunho’s neck. “Umma and Appa don’t love me anymore.” Yunho could feel Jaejoong's tears dampening his skin. He felt his own eyes watering too. Hearing his Jaejoongie-hyung’s distraught voice made his heart hurt.

Jaejoong sniffed and extracted himself from the hug, looking brokenly into Yunho’s face, his cheeks stained with dried and fresh tears. “They didn’t even call Auntie and Uncle to see if I was doing okay. They don’t love me. No one loves me Yunnie. No one.” Once he was done saying the words, Jaejoong sobbed again.

“That’s not true!” was Yunho’s immediate response, his fingers quickly resting on Jaejoong’ cheeks. He began wiping the tears away with his thumb. “Umma and Appa loves Jaejoongie-hyung. And Yunnie loves you too.” Leaning in with the intention to make the hurt Yunho was sure that Jaejoong was feeling to go away, he brought their faces close and rested his lips against his best friend. “Yunnie loves you so much!”

Jaejoong’s lower lip trembled, tear filled gaze boring into Yunho’s own. “No, you don’t.” he softly said.

Yunho’s eyes widened. How could his Jaejoongie-hyung say that? “But I do love Jaejoongie-hyung!”

“Yunnie-yah doesn’t love me but the babies.” Jaejoong stated as a matter of factly, blinking back away tears.

The very thought that Yunho seemed to like the idea of babies more than him made him really sad.

It was all Yunho had ever asked for the last three days. And it made Jaejoong realize that if he wasn’t going to agree with Yunho's wanting to make babies with him, then he won’t love him anymore. The boy could feel another sob rise up in his throat. It hurt so much to think that without the baby, his Yunnie-yah won’t love him at all.

Quick realization dawned on the younger boy. Suddenly, Yunho felt ashamed of himself, expression immediately crumbling down. Of course he loved his Jaejoongie-hyung more than the babies!

Without even realizing it, he managed to hurt his best friend again. Though Seonsangnim said that when two people love each other, they would want to make babies and he loved Jaejoong and he knew Jaejoong loved him just as much, he didn't even think if his Jaejoongie-hyung wanted any, he just kept on begging.

Well, if Jaejoong really didn’t want any babies. Then it was fine! Just as long as his Jaejoongie-hyung would be with him forever, babies wouldn’t matter. Seonsangnim did say that when two people got married, they would be together forever. She didn’t say that two people had to have babies to be together forever right?

Closing his small arms tightly around Jaejoong’s body, Yunho began to murmur apologies under his breath, tears stinging his eyes. “I’m sorry Jaejoongie-hyung. I’m sorry. Please, forgive Yunnie-yah for hurting you.”

Surprised with the sudden gesture, Jaejoong opened his mouth. “Yun-”

But before he could say anything, Yunho continued. “If Jaejoongie-hyung doesn’t want babies then it’s okay with me. I don’t care about the babies anymore. Just as long as Yunnie and Jaejoongie can be together forever, I'm already very happy.” Gently letting his hold on Jaejoong’s body go, Yunho cupped both his best friend’s cheeks and peered into his eyes, his own pair of almond orbs welling up. “All Yunnie wants in his life is Jaejoongie-hyung. No one else.” Yunho leaned down and gave him another kiss. “I’m sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Please don’t say that Yunnie doesn’t love Jaejoongie. Because he does. Yunnie loves Jaejoongie so much.”

Slowly bringing a hand to Yunho’s face to wipe away the tears, Jaejoong’s eyes softened as a smile spread across his face. “Yunnie-yah.” he said and this time, was the one that initiated the kiss. “Saranghae.”

Trapped in another embrace, Yunho softly murmured against his ear. “Saranghae hyung. Yongwonhi.”

To an adult’s perspective, it was an innocent declaration of love between children. But to little Jaejoong and Yunho, the meaning of the word was deeper. Though they may still be mere kids, there was already one obvious truth between the two of them. Time may pass and days may bring in new adventures. But no matter what happened, they would always love each other and will always be by the other’s side.

And that night, despite Jaejoong terribly missing his parents, but because Yunho was with him and had assured him that he loved him more than anything else in the world, Jaejoong laid peacefully in his sleep.

Two days later

It was the weekend and the set of friends as usual were spending their playing time inside the Jung residence. Minutes ago, they were all busy playing hide and seek downstairs. Though kids might be extra hyperactive in their age, there still came the point that they got tired from all the running.

Deciding to do another game, the kids ventured into the attic in search for toys when Yunho mentioned something about having a sword collection that he used to have a year ago. They went through box after box until Jaejoong came across a certain container that had a pretty long white dress and a black suit inside.

The children had figured that the dress and the suit belonged to Yunho’s parents. Changmin suddenly exclaimed about how he saw a relative at church wearing those dresses when they got married. At having been told of such information, a plan quickly began to formulate inside Yunho’s Jaejoong centered mind.

Several minutes later and Jaejoong’s mouth was seriously protruding into a full blown pout. “Why do I have to be the girl?!” Plus the dress was soooooooooo big. He could barely move in that thing.

“Because you’re the pretty one.” Yoochun pointed out, while Changmin and Junsu nodded their heads.

Jaejoong would have crossed his arms around his chest in a defiant manner if only the dress wasn't hindering him from doing any sudden movement. And so, he glared instead.

Wearing the clothes was such a bad idea, Yunho couldn’t help but think in regret. “They’re so heavy.” He was the perfect picture of cute. The collar was standing up by his neck in a 'dracula' fashion and half of the arm's sleeve and the cuffs were touching the floor. Not to mention, that the end of the suit reached his knees.

“You’re not wearing the pants.” Junsu said as he pointed at the bare skin of Yunho's small legs.

“I can’t walk in those.” he grumbled. Adjusting the half top of the suit, Yunho suddenly screamed in frustration. “Ahh, I give up!” He turned to the youngest. “Do we really have to wear these?”

Before Changmin had the chance to open his mouth, Yoochun beat him to it.

“It’s what married people wear. I even saw it on TV once!” Yoochun exclaimed and quickly grabbed hold of Junsu’s hand. “When Yunho-hyung and Jaejoong-hyung are done getting married. Can we go next?”

“Yah, who’s marrying you?” Junsu jerked his hand away and began to run to Changmin’s back.

“Waaaiii, but Junsu-yah. Chunnie wants to marry you!!!!”

“But I don’t wanna marry you!”

‘Why am I always the shield?’ Little Changmin couldn’t help but groan. Not only did Junsu have to occasionally bully him, he had to be a constant Yoochun repellent too.

“Why not?” said repellent asked.

“Because Chunnie always pinches me in the cheek now. And it hurts! And I don’t like it!”

“I’ll give you a popo to make it better.” Yoochun seemed very ecstatic with the offer.

Junsu’s eyes relatively widened in expectation. “You will?” He better be, because all the pinching hurts.

Yoochun fervently nodded. “Uh-huh!”

“YAY!” little Junsu practically ran back to Yoochun’s side.

“Cheek popo or mouth popo?” Yoochun was anticipating for the latter.

“Cheek popo.”

Yoochun’s face fell. “You don’t like mouth popo?”

“Cheek popo is okay.” Junsu frowned when Yoochun pouted. “Why do you want mouth popo?”

“Because Yunho-hyung and Jaejoong-hyung said it feels good. And I wanna try it.”

“Oh.” Junsu pursed his lips as if in thought. Hmmm. He nodded. “Okay.”

“I’m starving. Can we just finish this already so we can eat? I can smell Auntie’s cooking all the way up here.” Changmin pleaded of his hyung-duel. It sucked to always be constantly in between the four.

Yunho asked again. “Changminnie, if I wanted to make a wedding dress. How long will it take?”

“Hyung, do I look like I know?”

Yunho huffed out a breath. Turning to Jaejoong, he quickly noticed how the boy had shucked out of the huge dress, and had begun rubbing and scratching at his skin. “The dress itches.” he complained and whined.

The younger boy agreed. “No more dresses. And I’m going to marry Jaejoongie-hyung right now!” Gaze darting to Yoochun and Junsu, Yunho’s eyes narrowed. “Yah, what are you two doing?”

When Yunho and Jaejoong tried to pry off the two boys apart, Junsu would yell “But I can taste chocolate in Chunnie’s mouth!” while Yoochun would say “Sunnie tastes likes ice-cream!” as they refused to let the other go. It took about five more minutes before the kids were able to move on with the ceremony.

“Changminnie, you be the old guy that marries the two people.” Junsu ordered at the younger boy.

“Why me?”

Junsu stuck out his tongue. “Because I said so.”

Changmin pouted. “Junsunnie is a meanie.”

Junsu walked over and poked him in the shoulder. “Am not.”

Changmin rubbed at the spot where Junsu had poked, proving that he was indeed mean. “But you are.”

“Am not!”

“You are!”

“Am not!”

"You are!"

"Am not!"

"You are!"

"Am not!"

It took another ten minutes before the ruckes finally died down.

**

Junsu and Yoochun were on either side of the to be wed couple acting as the parent figure. Jaejoong and Yunho exchanged glances as they looked at the book in Changmin’s hand. “What’s that for?”

Changmin closed the book shut and read the words on the cover out loud. “A Bible.”

“Are you sure you know what you’re doing?” Yunho asked.

“I saw this on TV.” Changmin motioned for Yunho. “Hyung, put your right hand on the Bible and your left hand to your heart.”

“Like this?”

“Yep.” Changmin nodded. “Okay, I’m going to start now.”

“Just do it already.” Jaejoong said in impatience.

“Ehem! Do you, Jung Yunho… swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth?”

Yoochun's eyesbrows furrowed together in wonder. “Changmin ah, I don’t think that’s it at all.”

Changmin cocked his head towards Yoochun’s direction. “But I heard it on TV.” And then suddenly, as if remembering something… Changmin literally thumped himself lightly on the head, smiling sheepishly. “Oh, right. That wasn’t it.”

Carefully putting the bible down to the floor, he cleared his throat again and began the ceremony. “Dearly beloved... we are gathered here today to... to...” Changmin trailed off. “Yoochun-hyung, what do I say next?"

Yoochun blinked. “Why are you asking me?”

“Oh, so this is where you kids are. I’ve been looking everywhere for you.” Mrs. Jung suddenly appeared from the entry way of the attic. All heads turned to her direction while Yunho and Jaejoong ran towards her.

“Umma! Auntie!”

Upon seeing the expression on the boys’ face, Mrs. Jung’s voice took on an alarmed tone. “What, what is it?”

“Umma, what does the old guy say when he marries people?”

“Ei?”

“Yunho-hyung and Jaejoong-hyung are getting married!” Yoochun, Junsu and Changmin yelled in a chorus.

Eyes landing on an opened box with her wedding dress’ seams coming out of the edge, Mrs. Jung chuckled, realization dawning on her. Oh boy, his Yunnie and Jaejoong ah didn’t really waste any time at all.

“Umma! I wanna marry Jaejoong-hyung today before Auntie and Uncle comes back and go home again.”

Mrs. Jung smiled dotingly at her son’s cuteness. “Oh, and why is that?”

“I want to be like Umma and Appa. Getting married and being together forever with the one they love.”

“Aigooo, my boy is starting to grow up. And this is the first thing he wanted to do in his life.”

“Umma please! We can’t get married until Changmin ah says the the…” Yunho struggled to find the words that the priest would say after marrying two people. What was that again? You may… you may…

“You may kiss the bride?” Mrs. Jung gently asked and ruffled his son’s hair.

“Yes, yes! You may kiss the bride!” Yunho was practically bouncing.

Turning to Jaejoong who was staring expectantly at her, Mrs. Jung chuckled. “And Jaejoong ah is the bride?”

Jaejoong who didn’t really have a full understanding of what a bride was, nodded his head vigorously.

“Alright then. I’m going to help you kids get married. But we’re going downstairs for lunch in a bit okay?”

Yunho’s face lighted up like the sun. “Umma! You’re really going to help us?!”

“Of course Yunnie-yah. Whatevever makes my baby boy happy.” she chuckled and caressed his son’s cheek. “Besides…” Mrs. Jung supplied and smothered Jaejoong into her arms. “Umma, loves Yunnie’s bride too.”

Jaejoong wrapped his small arms around the woman’s shoulder. “Auntie! Jaejoongie loves you too!”

And so in the end, Jaejoong and Yunho got married.

Mrs. Jung had even plucked out a few flowers in her garden to act as the bouquet. When it was time for the bride to toss the flower, Yoochun of course, hyper kid that he was caught the bundle of orchids. Grinning happily and shuffling over to his beloved Sunnie, he handed the bouquet to the other boy as he pointed at his cheeks. Smelling the beautiful flowers, Junsu readily rewarded his Yoochunnie a sweet innocent kiss.

"Finally it's over. Auntie! I want bulgogi!" Changmin chirped in all excitement, already rushing towards the kitchen.

Jaejoong and Yunho looked at each other and giggled, their clasped hands swaying to and fro as they began their pace.
