Writing is hard

I currently have 268 semi-original words down on a sheet of paper, after having woken up at 5am with a plotline buzzing in my head - sort of - and it has taken me almost an hour to set them down. It's crappy writing, it's difficult dialogue, there's nothing about character development in it because I'm just writing banter like I usually do, but it' ( Read more... )

i write about places i haven't been all the time. at least now we have google. when i was in high school and middle school all i had was an atlas and an encyclopedia.

I actually think you're better off writing about a city you're not in love with - it'll give the novel more of a bite.

I'm excited that you're trying. However it ends, whether it's with terrible screams and bloodshed or with a rockin' book deal, I'm just proud of you for starting.
