Rent Update

It seems the apartment complex is up for sale and they have a contract to up all rent to a minimum price and the $700/month is the minimum price for mine. I guess there are quite a few people who are leaving because of this. So I have to find a new place to move into by May 1 or move back in with my mother, an option I absolutely dread. As much ( Read more... )

I don't like the idea but if I don't have anywhere else to go, it may be my only option. I'm going to look and see what I can find tho. Too bad I can't move in with you. ;)

Not sure if I could do the "stranger roommate" thing. Guess it's a trust issue thing.

Well, I have a parent to live with but it's far from optimal. I'd be in an area people wouldn't want to visit with a homophobic mother so no sex life or social life, I'd have an extra half hour drive each way to work (or anywhere else I'd want to go), and she already has 2 cats so my 2 cats there too wouldn't be that great. I definitely will be apartment hunting.

I will have to live with my mom this summer too. Mine's very homophobic but she tends to just not talk to me which makes things easier.

*hugs* I hope we both get some stability in our lives soon.

Good luck with you too. For me, it wouldn't be a matter of actual problems with my mom but a lack of having to avoid a whole part of my life while there because of her. And that's among other issues.

Ugh. I hope you can find something. I think you should try the roommate route.

Thanks. If I hd a friend who needed a roommate, I might consider it but I don't know anyone who does, there's no way I could just room with someone I don't know, and I've gotten pretty used to living alone too.

There's a 2 bedroom "townhome" in Kenmore on Chatsworth Ave (sounds uppity, doesn't it? ;) ) that are about $615 that I have an appointment to see Saturday. If you know of any others that are nice enough and maybe a little cheeper, let me know. I want to try looking into a few and if I could save a little money, it would be great as long as the place isn't too small or run down/in a bad area.

Thanks, hon. *hug* I'll check those when I get home. I just meant if you happened to see any when out. You didn't have to do research. :)
