I want to get me poetry published, but it tends to be on the darker side. previous magazines, etc. have refused to publish them as they "aren't the kind of poetry this magazine does", etc.

anyone know where i could get these poems published?

You're really at a disadvantage.
1. Submission accepting magazines are rare
2. Submission accepting magains which accept 'dark' poetry are even rarer.

Try some webzines. If you've never had stuff published it can be a bit of a hard time! Don't get disheartened by criticism, see it as beneficial. I've had millions of rejection letters in my time, but there's nothing more satisfying then seeing your work in print.

Submit, submit and submit more. Buy the writers and artists handbook.

You can even look in the US, they have more of a market for dark submission poetry. Try Talebones if you like :)

hey, darling. thanks for the advice.

yeah, id thought of trying webzines and stuff, but im doing this to get a portfolio so that i can go to a publisher so many years down the line "ive a book that i want you to publish... here is a catalogue of poetry, articles, etc. that has been published before with the magazine they were published in". publishing houses tend to take a dim view on the webzines, etc. as they can be easier to get published in.

ill have a look at them though :D thanks.

and yeah, ill look at the US.

who wrote that book, by the way?

lucyfer for the win! less than three!
