Link's kisses are soft and cautious, as if he's afraid he's doing something wrong; Dark's are rough and hungry, like he's trying to pull something out of Link.
03 - Soft
Dark isn't used to tender things, so Link decides to teach him how nice a gentle touch can feel.
04 - Pain
Of course they get hurt -- that's what happens to warriors, after all -- but Dark would rather be battered and nearly broken than to see Link hurt at all.
05 - Potatoes
Neither of them is that great of a cook, though they're more worried about how warm and filling their meals are than how exquisite the food could be.
06 - Rain
The Shadow hates being in the rain, but the look on Link's face as the Hero watches it fall makes it tolerable.
07 - Chocolate
He's learned that the darker chocolates are less sweet than the lighter ones; it's easy to remember because it reminds him of himself and Link.
08 - Happiness
The road and each other -- somehow, that's really all they need.
09 - Telephone
Even once things calm down, Link still finds himself asking questions to a fairy who isn't there anymore; Dark thinks it's hilarious.
10 - Ears
Link sometimes wishes he could figure out what it is about his ears that makes Dark nip at them so much.
11 - Name
It doesn't bother Dark at all that his name is derived from Link's; almost everything else about him is derived from the Hero, so why shouldn't his name be?
12 - Sensual
It amazes him sometimes how much he looks forward to simple little things, like watching Link unlace his collar or untie his hair, or the way it feels so right when they're standing back to back or so close their arms are brushing.
13 - Death
It can come at any time, but they're both so used to dealing it out and cheating it that neither of them is particularly afraid of death anymore, especially since they know that whenever it finally claims them, it will have to take them both.
14 - Sex
Some nights they take their time playing and touching and teasing, but on others, it's all rough and hard and fast, nipping and clawing in their desperate need to feel each other.
15 - Touch
No matter how bad the nightmares get, all Link has to do is wake up and feel Dark curled up against him, and that's enough to drive them away for another night.
16 - Weakness
He knows how to tell when Link's faking a smile to hide some kind of pain, but what Dark doesn't realize is that Link can tell when he's doing the same thing with his smirk.
17 - Tears
Dark has cried exactly once, and that was when, after a long night spent keeping vigil over Link's weak and battered body, the Hero finally groaned and opened his eyes; Dark has never been so happy to hear Link's voice in his life.
18 - Speed
By the fall of Ganon, they've become quite the accomplished pair of warriors; it doesn't take them long to handle whatever threats present themselves.
19 - Wind
Link just likes to feel the breeze, but to Dark, the wind is a reminder that he's not trapped within four walls anymore.
20 - Freedom
Link is glad to finally get away from all of the chilly damp, but Dark is even happier; for the first time, he can see the real world and not just the inside of some half-forgotten temple.
21 - Life
Neither of them really knows what a normal life is, but at the same time, they're so used to wandering around that they don't see any reason to change.
22 - Jealousy
Of course he's jealous of all the attention Link gets, but what he won't admit is that it's less from being ignored and more from having to share the Hero with everyone else.
23 - Hands
Their hands are rough from months spent wielding swords and shields and all manner of other equipment, but that roughness doesn't change how right their hands look wrapped around each other, fingers intertwined.
24 - Taste
There are several reasons why Dark likes going for the side of Link's neck: the feel of warm skin beneath his lips, the taste of sweat on his tongue, and the not-always-steady rhythm of the Hero's pulse as they lean together; best of all, there's the fact that all of his playing only makes Link want to return the favor.
25 - Devotion
Link doesn't really have a real family, and Dark doesn't know anything about where he came from -- though he refuses to believe that pig-faced bastard has anything to do with it at all -- so they both tend to be somewhat possessive of the "family" they now have.
26 - Forever
"You'll never have to be alone again... ever."
27 - Blood
Dark's eyes are an unusual color, darker and more vivid than Sheik's or Impa's; they remind Link of blood, but that thought doesn't bother him.
28 - Sickness
There are several who claim that Dark has some kind of spell on Link and that the Shadow is only waiting to kill the Hero, but the two ignore all of them; they don't care what anyone else thinks.
29 - Melody
Despite all the ways they're alike, Dark doesn't know how to play an ocarina; Link gives his shadow the ocarina Saria gave him so long ago and teaches Dark how to play it, and it isn't long before the two of them are coming up with songs that only they know.
30 - Star
On lazy nights, they lie awake together and look up at the stars, picking out shapes and making up their own names for them.
31 - Home
Link doesn't worry about 'home' anymore; he's learned that as a wanderer, his home is the road... and the person he shares that road with.
32 - Confusion
"I just don't know where I belong, Dark..."
33 - Fear
"Just don't leave me, no matter what; I don't want to be alone anymore."
34 - Lightning/Thunder
Dark hates the cold wind and rain the storms bring, and Link doesn't like it when the lightning strikes close enough to turn the world white and crack the sky with thunder, so when the storms come, they find a dry, warm place and curl up tight in each other's arms, trying to shield each other from the storm's fury.
35 - Bonds
They're the only ones who know about the rings they wear beneath their gauntlets, but no one else needs to know, either.
36 - Market
Link doesn't like being followed around whenever they need supplies, so he either sends Dark to do what little shopping they need or he hides behind a thick cloak; he isn't sure if he should like hiding from everyone or not.
37 - Technology
Whenever they find a new item in a dungeon or some other hidden place, they stop their exploration and try to figure out how their new equipment works; some of these experiments end better than others.
38 - Gift
It's such a simple little thing, but Link knows that he's being given much more than a little gold ring.
39 - Smile
Since they look alike, they should have the same smile, but they don't; Link's smile is warm and friendly, while Dark's always looks more like a smirk than a smile.
40 - Innocence
Dark loves teasing Link, mostly because of the way the Hero blushes and starts stammering whenever Dark gets particularly close.
41 - Completion
It's moments like this, when it's just Link and Dark moving together and yet opposite, when the rest of the world stops existing and everything is just perfect.
42 - Clouds
They normally don't bother him, but when the clouds start getting darker and covering the sky, Dark starts looking for shelter; he hates being stuck out in the rain, even if Link seems to like it.
43 - Sky
Dark just happens to notice one afternoon that Link's eyes are almost the same color as the darkest part of the midday sky; it's just another excuse for staring into them every chance he gets.
44 - Heaven
"This is Hyrule Field; you can get to almost anywhere in Hyrule from here."
45 - Hell
"If you're leaving... take me with you."
46 - Sun
It takes Dark a while to get used to Link's habit of throwing himself in harm's way to help other people, but eventually, the two start moving almost as one to protect other people.
47 - Moon
At the same time, it takes Link a while to get used to Dark's habit of veiling everything in innuendo, but he finally learns how to read between the lines and figure things out.
48 - Waves
The lake is where it all began, and the lake is where it all ended; they make a promise to return to the lake, together if possible and separately if not, once Ganondorf is defeated.
49 - Hair
Dark's hair is long, much longer than Link's, and the Shadow wears it loose; it falls over them both like another blanket whenever they hold each other tight.
50 - Supernova
Dark loves all kinds and sizes of fire, but his absolute favorite is Din's Fire; there's just something wonderful about being completely surrounded by scorching flames, and he takes every chance he can get to use that spell.
