Link, I think you love the idea of your mother.
It sounds like children staying with their genetic parents was the normal family pattern where you're from? And you didn't? So it's natural that you feel a sense of loss about it, especially if your society places great stock in family ties.

Um, well, I'm not actually sure what's normal for Hylians... but a lot of children are missing a parent, because of the war. Even so, families and villages are pretty important, yeah...

Mother Calindra raised me... my parents gave me up to the temple when I was very young. I don't think about my real mother often... the temple was so good to me I have no regrets.
