This story arc could be summarized: “Sokka and Zuko go on a bachelor's getaway to deal with manly stuff like lost honor and daddy issues-only to find that they need their girlfriends more than ever.” XD

I'd never thought of all the parallels between Sokka and Zuko in that episode, so great insight! Girl Power gave me the warm fuzzies, too. Suki's and Mai's exploits were no more unrealistic than the rest of the action scenes in the show, so I don't see why their scenes deserve special scrutiny either. As for the unanswered questions, that's what fanfic is for. :D
