ahyoung is sitting at the end of minah’s bed, quietly fidgeting with the buttons on her silk blouse. she doesn’t dare look up - she won’t look up - because she is afraid of falling into minah’s intense gaze.
minah, splayed lazily on the ground, puffs out her cheeks and grunts as she crawls on all fours towards the other girl. still on her knees, she stops in front of ahyoung and pouts again. ahyoung pretends to not notice and quickly looks away, but minah makes a whining sound and she finally gives in.
“yes, kneel before your master,” she jokes in a distant tone.
minah laughs at the comment and jumps on the bed. ahyoung gasps at the sudden action and clutches tightly on her buttons.
“let’s have fun,” minah says.
“but i’m tired,” ahyoung stretches her long legs to emphasize it.
“what we’re gonna do next doesn’t take too much energy,” minah promises, suddenly lowering her usually upbeat voice to a breathy whisper. “fun, but refreshing.”
ahyoung doesn’t reply.

by their sixth kiss, ahyoung is used to minah always snuggling into her breasts. she is no longer surprised whenever minah pulls her over with gentle tugs and gentle lips. she doesn’t say anything about anything, but minah seems to be fine with it.
“why are you always in my room?” minah asks one day.
“i can’t leave,” ahyoung answers matter-of-factly.

the next day, minah is gone. ahyoung sits at the empty bed, her heart hollow. soon it will be replaced with someone else, someone who isn’t minah. in her anger, ahyoung accidentally breaks off one of the buttons of her sleeve. she watches dully as it bounces soundlessly on the floor.
of course, ahyoung thinks, silently tapping her fingers against the wall, nothing lasts forever.
