A big part of my identity is being korean. I find this perplexing sometimes because I didn't grow up in Korea and lived overseas all my life. But if anyone asked me where I came from, the first thing I'd say is that I'm Korean. But what does it mean to be a Korean? Not really. I guess it's because from the time I found out I was going to Korea, I made up my mind that I was not totally for it. Because of the fact that it was such a backward country, poor and whatnot. But gradually I felt more like I could do something to help. It was always more a position of helping than being a part of.
