Yeah, the lack of accessorising is a major problem with iPods.

I knitted mine a sock instead. It definitely looks better (and doesn't get sweaty when I hide it in my cleavage now!)

Cream (i.e. dark white) or antracite (i.e. light black), because you wouldn't want to pose with an absolute anyway.

Oh, and really cheap-and-tatty-looking headphones that nevertheless have good sound. Those white signature earbuds are just mugger invitations.

Me, I got a 256MB £5 MP3 player at Tesco a bit before Xmas. Works for me.
