I love this post. It's something that you don't really think about until you go back and see the movies, and it's like, "omg, I can't believe I thought that looked so real!" Jumanji was on TV a couple weeks ago, and I was thinking about this exact topic. (Ps. i really liked that movie when it came out). It is amazing how special effects have changed through the years. We take for granted special effects as so common now, we barely even notice it in films anymore. The improvement is amazing, of course we used to think Jumanji had good effects, so who knows that the future holds. The only thing we can be sure of is one day we will look back and think that the effects are lame and outdated. -brittney

I don't think people paid close attention to the effects throughout the movie because nothing was expected then. With new technology the effects have become very realistic looking and the expectations of these effects are much hire. Imagine old effects on movies now? That would never fly.

I love Ghostbusters and the Ninja Turtles. Ahh I miss the days before CGI and the ninja turtle were actually guys in rubber suits
