NYAF/NYCC 2010 Report ^^
Finally getting down and writing this before I never write it. We were originally going to go w/the Asian-American Awareness club but that kinda fell through b/c of preordering, etc. so we were going to buy them at the door, but then when I got home Fri afternoon, my sister checked the site and ALL THE SAT TICKETS WERE SOLD OUT @__@ I kinda panicked/freaked and was trying to get in touch w/ my friends, but none of them were contactable. eririna told me via Twitter that she bought through a retailer so I was like OHHHH good point.
so I went on the site and called all the retailers. THEY WOULDN'T SELL TO ME. I enlisted my friends and we called over. FAIL. I was doing that for like from 4pm to 8 pm straight. @_____@
the next day, we gathered at my house around...8 amish and then drove out to Queens to take the 7 train to Manhattan. first, we stopped at a bakery to pick up bread for lunch/CVS to get me cough drops.
then we took the 7 local train to Manhattan, Times Square, transfered to Penn Station and scrambled out in serach for Borders. LOL we weren't sure they;d still have weekend passes, but they did. I was so nervous they wouldn't have @_@ we were pretty luck too, since we got there before a huge crowd of people came in to buy passes for ComicCon too, so we bypassed the line. ^^ the next problem was finding Javits Center. lol -directionally challenged- we walked one direction only to figure out it was the oppoiste way and turned around. We saw some cosplaysers and decided to follow the line of cosplayers marching through the city. haha As we were crossing a street, I saw a Lussuria and Xanxus cosplay but didn't have time to grab my camera out. I WAS LIKE KHR CHARACTERS!!!!
so once we found a huge trail of cosplayers...I thought I was going to be late for the Miku screening (I wasn;t XD), we started running past the cosplayers b/c we thought there'd be a huge line. LOL I'm sure we got some stares as we whooshed by. Supposedly, my sister and some friends walking slowly behind us overheard some people commenting they;d do the same but their cosplay would choke them. lol -yay otakus- wwwww jk XD
So at first we saw this huge line and was aghast but realized that it was the line for the online ticket pick-up so we just waltzed in and...no one even checked our passes. orz. LOL so first thing's first, we hit the bathroom while I went to grab maps that we ended up not using (I realized when I got home, it was for only the comiccon floor or somethng lol) so I dragged everyone over to the IGN theatre and asked about Miku but they had no clue and pointed me toward the anime theatre. I thought the Miku screening started at 11:15am but I think it was 11:45am, so we were there for like half an hour watching some dubbed Birdy anime or something. my friends tired of it/waiting and ditched me slowly in pairs. LOL even my sister left.
random note, but there were these two Japanese dudes standing near me and they kept whispering to each other and laughing "majisuka?" or something and it made me amused. ^w^ the room was fairly packed and there was quite a number of Vocaloid cosplayers. The creator of Miku...some guy from Crypton made a mini speech (which I recorded, might up later?) and had a translator translated. They played the 39 Miku day DVD or something? The Japanese guy next to me pulled out his cell and waved it like a glowstick, hehe.
ah right, earlier, a Matryoshka cosplay had entered into the room, but they left before I could ask for a picture =/ some people left, so I managed to nab the seat all the way in the back in the corner (I was originally just leaning against the backwall). pfft for being short, I had to lean to the left to see. Well...the Miku DVD is kinda on YT? LOL
but I do like the ecstatic screams when Luka's "Just Be Friends" came on~~ and Rin/Len's "Migikata no Chou," the girls all screamed when Len's shota self popped out from behind Rin. and when "Melt" came on, lots of screams. ^^ As Miku was going disintegrating into light or whatever, some girl shouted "SHE'S GOING INTO THE LIGHT!" the whole room kinda chuckled.
Well, some songs I knew were Saihate, from Y to Y, World is Mine, some pippo pippo song?, Melt, Ai Kotoba, etc. When Ai Kotoba came on I was like :DDD it's a Deco*27 song! ^^
so when the screening was over, I left the theatre to find my friends waiting for me outside. They figured I'd stay till the end. lolol. they went to go sit down for lunch while I headed for the bathrooms. XDD when I came out, I gave eririna a call to let her know I got in...I think she was at the Halo booth at that time. LOLOL XDDD it was hard to hear. So I went to the dining area to find my friends and whipped out the $3 chesnut bread I bought from the bakery tht morning. I was too excited to eat. We saw a little kid dressed up as Pikachu and his/her dad was Ash. haha cuuuuuuute XDD I saw another Matryoshka cosplay and decided to follow them through the cafeteria to ask for a picture. First cosplay capture of the day!
Hm...well, my friends had already explored, so I wanted to check out the anime floor. *w* I hope they don't squish Comic Con with Anime festival next year....since comic con really dominated and left anime festival really small =/ but it still was cool *w*
so somehow me and my friends got kinda separated. wwwwww
so I got a call from eririna and we kinda arranged to meet up by the letter 4E or something. lol oh right, while on ComicCon floor, I saw this guy from my AP US Class...lol I was so surprised. he was probably there for Halo/Starcraft or something. and we got separated from a differerent friend whom we kept trying to find. =) -lost easily-
eririna was looking up at the big 4E while talking on the phone XDD since I said 4E =) she told me that x_tsubasa_x3 went to McDonalds for lunch so we would meet-up ish later. ^^ Ah right~ eririna was with her friend Sean (who uses backpacks and likes SNSD -random- LOLLLL) and they went off to grab Starbucks. We tried looking around for our friends and miraciously met up again somewhere near the Intel kiosk. XDD
we then plopped down somewhere near the entrance and rested our feet while I went hunting for bathrooms with my sister. the lines were so long @__@ one guy passed by as Spiderman and was like WOAH it this the bathroom line? then another guy pointed out it was for the girl's only and HE JUST WENT JAUNTILY INTO THE GUY'S BATHROOM...while our line was so long @___@
also, one of my friend's met up with her old friend that goes to Bronx Science ^^ it was around that time that eririna and x_tsubasa_x3 managed to hunt us down~ sorry for all the trouble! >__< It was really great meeting up with them, even if we're all akward turtles =) Uwah...such a cool, tall, college-y aura surrounding those three. pfft LOL our group was...elementary in comparison, hahahahaahahaha XDD They had to witness my friends spaz and stalk Hetalia cosplayers. (we were like headless chickens! ^^) XDD haha and we're all kind of short @__@ hahahaha =) I don't think it helped that they were all wearing those really cute animal caps *w* I think that's why eririna 's friend Sean wanted to know what grade we were in. LOL 10th and 11th graders yo! xD The seniors were taking the SATs that day =)
and then we all kind of trailed downstairs to look at anime stuff and dancers-ish competition on the stage. MARIO BREAKDANCE WOOT. It was super crowded. Supposedly, I missed a Vocaloid karaoke thing on stage earlier too when I was lost. NOOOOOO @__@
well, we had to leave around then, but just as we were leaving, I saw a Tsuna cosplay and was like TSUNA TSUNA TSUNA TSUNAAAAAAAAA. and had Tsuna take a picture with Gokudera&Lambo. here are some more pictures!

on our way back, the 7 train went out of service so were stranded near Manhattan-ish. and we were separated @__@ it was pretty terrible. that was the short ver. LOL my friend even started crying and called me heartless ^^;; (she was being panicky OTL)(ok, @__@ I was trying to take control of the situation orz I'M NOT HEARTLESSSSS~ >__<) well, we all turned out ok though I think? ^^
not sure if this picture completely captures the crowded hectic notion of the stranded peopl of the 7 train. we left the con at around 5 pm ish and we had a hard time finding Penn Station again LOL and our mom had to drive to pick us up (and our friend's mom had to drive out from Long Island orz) and we didn't get home till 8:30 pm =/
but the con was fun! I didn't buy anything though @__@
