I have not posted in a while. After reading my own journal, I realized that I'd turned my journal into a whiny mess. It seems terribly unfair to afflict my whining upon you. Although I'm not abandoning this journal, I cannot say how often I will post in the future. All I promise is that I'll try to keep them whine free

I don't know that I'd agree with that. Sure, you posted about the bad times and the depressing times, but you also posted about the cool stuff and the happy times. It's a record of your life. Not too many of us luck out and get the 24x7 happy shiny joy joy package, so it's not too surprising that your journal mixes the good with the bad. Besides, why shouldn't you use your LJ to vent? Lord knows a lot of the rest of us do.

The anonymity...I have plausible deniability, but enough people know who I am online now that it's not really a secret any more, but you liuve a much less public life. In the end you need to decide for yourself whether the mask continues to serve your purposes.

I feel I've been turning too my journal mostly when I'm lonely. When I've so much to talk about and no one to share it with.

As for anonymity, I am slightly paranoid when it comes to that. Having a non-secret journal means I can make friends who might be able to meet in real life. But I guess I still need my anonymous LJ when I'm bursting to share a secret.

But a journal is meant to be a source for venting your feelings and so its fine to talk about the not so happy times as well. Everyone does it, because a journal is a story of your life, a true story. Even if you get a myspace, please do not abandon this journal!
