Honestly I just finished reading Jensen's Endgame V.I and I am having a hard time thinking meaningfully about democracy

Maybe a long time ago these ideas were worth the lives of many. But nobody needs to die so others can carry out a shallow existence stuffing their faces with garbage while they continue to perpetuate the greatest disgrace in the history of the human race. We've got an example to set, right? "Oh hey fellas, congratulations on breaking the decades-long iron grip of that parade of despots and tyrants. Bad news, unfortunately. We've been kidding ourselves this whole time."

There approaches a point where you do or don't do a thing, not because it will save the planet, but because you want to be able to sleep at night.
