FANTASIA FEST 2011
It was a great year and every movie is 10/10. Except The Divide, -10/10, so terrible.
BLEAK NIGHT
I didn't understand what was going on at all but it's all right because there is no story :) It's just a bunch of guys pretending to have fun but actually they are all depressed and hate each others. One of them commits suicide and they never learn to play baseball properly. It think one might be gay. They fight then pretend to be sorry. The dad is completely oblivious.
Don't be fooled by the smiles, there is not one second of sincere happiness in this movie.
THE DIVIDE
Horrible crap. I hate those fucking post-apocalyptic movies. So New-York explodes or something and a group of survivors hides in a cave.
Spoilers : they all go crazy and die.
They only eat canned beans and have boring conversations until suddenly!! two of them realize how shitty the movie is and decide to make it worse, so they rape and torture every one while in drags. This is who you are in the dark, hinhinhin. Seriously, there is only one nice character and he gets shot at the beginning so he does fuck all for the rest of the movie. Oh he's got some kind of romance going on with that one girl I guess but that's pointless and goes nowhere. She's too busy chopping the black guy's corpse. America, so extreme :) :) :)

This sure looked like a fun movie.
NO. I REFUSE TO BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A COMEDY. ALL THE FUCKING TEARS IN THE WORLD AREN'T ENOUGH.
One and a half hour of funny hijinks leading to the saddest fifteen minutes.
Seriously I hope I can get my hands on the dvd.

Yeah it doesn't make much sense. I'm pretty sure the whole thing was improvised. Tant pis si tu comprends pas, Jovan. There is no way this is supposed to be taken seriously, but I don't see it labeled as a comedy anywhere, that's confusing. Weirdo can control people with his eyes, kills every one, dumbass who can't die tries to stop him. The ending is weak.
It's okay, it's a fun movie, people breaking their own neck aside.
