Part onePart two Part three Heiji narrowed his eyes at Aoko, taking in her appearance. Away from the fire it was easier to see by star light, and this girl looked dreadful. Although, if they were stranded then it was no wonder her clothes were tattered.
A fact that his Kaito noticed quite well, he guessed, seeing him turn his face away, respectfully. This…was an unexpected situation.
“It appears that we’re not where we’re supposed to be.” He drawled carefully. No doubt the other detective had recognized him and if that was supposedly ‘Kaito’ then he should have as well.
Aoko smiled, almost sadly. “Us either. We got shipwrecked…..” she tried to think.
“Three months, two days, and fourteen point five hours ago.” Hakuba cut in, having moved to follow her towards the other two, ‘Kaito’ not far behind.
“Ah, yeah.” Aoko clearly marveled at how Hakuba could still keep track of time.
Heiji just thought it was annoying, but what else is knew. First thing he needed to figure out though: How in the hell did they get on a deserted island in the middle of the ocean when they had been in Osaka?
Which would have been the thought on Kaito’s mind if it weren’t for the simple fact that Aoko was now close enough to see him and he was too post!sex ruffled to be able to pass himself off as someone else.
He could see the exact moment when recognition and her next words stopped in her throat as she stared at him. Shit, it was too late to use Heiji as a shield. She turned to glance at the other ‘Kaito’ and he watched as her brain came to the most logical conclusion she could wrap her head around when she turned back to face him.
He could have probably said it with her. “You’re Kaitou Kid!!” He felt like face palming, but that would have aggravated his wound. At least she was still innocent enough not to guess from his looks what he had been doing. That would have been awkward.
What was more strange, though, was the look on his doppelganger’s face at her exclamation. There was no mistaking that shock. Ooookay, maybe not an imposter? “Heiji…” He whispered. What was going on?
