It's so hard to believe that something that was so fundamentally a part of my life such as writing is something that I rarely do anymore. Writing was my creative, intellectual and academic outlet. Writing has seen me through and helped me analyze some of the most important moments of life. As technology progresses, I've confined my writing to ( Read more... )

I find myself on these pages because I've entered another transition point in my life. I've once again delved into academia and have started the process for graduate school applications.

I'm in a stable and happy relationship with a man that loves me, that challenges me to think. I see a future with him, and that makes me happy.

I just posted on my journal with more-or-less the same sentiment (about missing writing on here.)

Where are you applying to and for what programs? I am finishing up my Master's in English Literature and applying to PhD programs specializing in British Romanticism and also to Rhetoric & Composition programs.

It's been such a long while since I wrote on here...

I'm applying for Latin American Studies programs all over the U.S. I'm specifically looking for master's programs. UT Austin, U Chicago, Colombia, FIU, UCSC. I don't want to commit to a PhD yet because I'm torn between anthropology and political science. I figured with an interdisciplinary master's in an area that I'm interested in, I would be able to figure out which discipline is the one for me.

Guess what, my friend? I finally applied, and got in, to PhD programs. Thought about you 'cause we'd discussed this years ago. I finally did it. Excited but anxious about the future. I hope all is well with you.
