Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children
The worldbuilding was great that it's really disappointing that the climax is such a disappointment. As usual, Eva Green is fabulous as Miss Peregrine. -

Train to Busan
You'd think that a zombie epidemic infused with K-drama sensibilities wouldn't work but surpise, surprise...it totally does in Train to Busan. There are moments of heightened drama and hilarity but it just makes the tension and the suspense of a group of passengers trapped on a train with zombie threats coming from all sides.
