I am currently trying to get onto my neighbors wifi. I used his AP *jajaroyo2* and google to find his facebook, ebay, youtube, and more. I know 100% it is him cause well its pictures and video of the neighborhood ;P So far cannot find anything that works on his pages as a password. www.facebook.com/jajaroyo is the guy. So what should I try now... I ( Read more... )

You could always be nice and get to your know your neighbor in a normal way... maybe if you asked he'd let you borrow the internet until your's is up and running ;-)

What security is he using?
Wireless networks are usually fairly easy to crack, especially if he uses multiple computers and/or a wireless printer.
If he knows what he is doing, & has tied permissions to mac addresses, then you are screwed.... unless you clone a lesser used mac address (such as the printer)

WPA2 is what he is using... sooo yeah ;(

PSK is crackable if the password isn't long enough...it's vulnerable to dictionary attacks, especially in the TKIP form. AES is the default for WPA2, though.

If he's using EAP, you are S.O.L. That's what I use. ;-)

If you where here i could help you! :) w0uter88 July 3 2010, 13:31:33 UTC
If the accesspoint is WEP it is verry easily cracked in a couple of minutes with compatible hardware.

If it is WPA/WPA2 it depends on the users password strength.
You could try to use a wordlist with basic mangling.
Even better would be to mangle all the words with info from his facebook:
like his name, name of his wife/daughter/whatever or/and combination with his birthyear)
(For the cracking: http://www.aircrack-ng.org/doku.php?id=cracking_wpa)
(For the mangling: http://www.openwall.com/john/)

Mac filtering can be bruteforced with for example: http://homepages.tu-darmstadt.de/~p_larbig/wlan/#mdk3

The wifi tools are actually crossplatform AFAIK. But i have never tried, just pop in a backtrack cd you lazy mutt. :P

You cant expect to crack things (well... other then WEP...) without putting some effort into it. :P

You may have unfortunately met your match in this battle, a person who knows what the heck they are doing.
