poem time!!
yeah... i wrote a poem! i haven't written one in forever! it's rather long.
looking at you,
a single tear falls down my cheek.
your soft hair slowly falling into your closed eyes.
breathing so evenly,
your chest silently rises and falls.
kissing your cheek,
a smile appears on your face.
my heart begins to break.
the rain starts pouring,
and i start to cry.
tonight's the night i say goodbye.
this world's so cold.
it has nothing more to offer me.
unraveling from your arms so silently,
and quietly crawling out of the bed.
grabbing my bag i kiss you one last time.
in your ear i whisper "live well, and stay forever.
the pain was just too much.i'll always love you."
as i lift my face my hair brushes your cheek,
and you stir a little.
scared i stand ever so still.
when i'm sure you're still asleep,
i open the door whispering a final goodbye.
the thunder begins to roar,
and lightning fills the sky.
the hallway seems endless,
and your smile burns into my mind.
my heart keeps breaking.
opening the final door
i see it's really begun to pour.
the lightning strikes a tree.
that could soon be me.
taking a step i hesitate,
and look back to our room.
i close the door,
and drop the bag.
running to the room i plead.
my hopes of life aren't dead.
the door slightly squeaks,
and your beginning to awake.
i slide back into bed.
your eyes flutter open.
"good morning gorgeous."
"morning."
smiling, i realize
this life is good and there's no pain.
this dream is real,
and love is true.
i realize this because of you.
