i once had a calculus class that made me hate life. all day before class i dreaded it, and all day after class i felt stupid, and during class i was a miserable wreck. i drew that conclusion, and withdrew. i don't much miss it. ;)
It's not that simple. You can't measure circumference or diameter with infinite precision. I forget exactly how it's done, but it involves integrating a semicircle and some other stuff.
a=v/t is calculus, but it's a physics application, so you'll need a year of calculus and a year of college-level physics to explain that one.
So...yeah, it's not worth it, unless you're really curious.

And maybe I should have used an easier example.. acceleration = distance/time. something basic like that barely, if not at all, makes sense to me.
