When one has thrush, the other must be treated or it will be passed back and forth.

Oh gods, yes...yes yes yes

I hope your treatment works this time! What did they give you? I convinced Squish's doctor to give him thrush medicine (Nystatin) even though he doesn't show any signs of it, but that's the only thing that explains why I keep getting it! (And MY doctor, who's a woman, wouldn't give him anything because he didn't have any symptoms - she also told me it couldn't have been caused by the antibiotics!) And I've been treating myself for over 3 weeks with Nystatin and Lotrimin, and it clears up for a couple days and then comes back with a VENGEANCE! o.0 I just want it GONE! I was going to build up a freezer stash for when I go to California, but since I have this evil thing I can't pump and save it for later, so no stash, so he's going to have to be completely weaned by 13 months because of this :(

It's a pill called Diflucan. It's a two-day treatment. I don't know how much it costs without insurance or what your insurance is. It costs me $3.

Seriously. Find a new pediatrician if she isn't willing to treat you properly. I'd be happy to recommend ours. I totally adore her. She isn't a BS kinda person, doesn't pussyfoot around, but also doesn't do anything unnecessary. She's really gentle and does really well with our 11-year-old too.

Agh. I misread your response slightly as being Squish's doctor not prescribing for you. I'd say call Squish's doctor and explain your situation and see what comes of it. Ask if they can give you a prescription.

Forgot to mention. . . use the supermegabitchinheavyduty one-day yeast infection cream. Expensive, but very strong and helps tremendously. CALL THE PEDIATRICIAN TODAY!

The sad thing is, licensed lactation consultants know more about breastfeeding/boobie health than the doctors and nurses. So you know, if you're looking for a career change.... ;) But they'd probably only let women get the license, practical experience and all.
