The Good Humour Hypothesis

Aug 25, 2006 11:06

Or, how to restore your good mood when external forces have conspired to ruin it.

I decided to test this hypothesis this week.

First, you take your significant other (SO) - or a reasonable facsimile - and you go to see a movie. Not just any movie. You go and see Little Miss Sunshine, which stars Greg Kinnear, Toni Collette, Steve Carrell and ( Read more... )

oooooh, i love steve carrell (and alan arkin), but my next funny movie endeavour will likely be bon cop, bad cop.

a great place for hallowe'en is mrs. tiggy winkles. they always have cheap plastic weapons, like devil's pitchforks and grim reaper scythes. :)

Bon Cop, Bad Cop is also on my list. I love Colm Feore - and the concept is truly Canadian!

Mrs. Tiggy Winkles, you say? I will have to check that out. Yay for scythes! I recently discovered the Halloween wonderland that is Dollarama. And Michael's has really cool stuff but it's a little pricier, so it's an exercise in self-discipline every time I go there (they have a year-round Halloween section).

Will do! It won't likely be before next weekend, as we are kid go as of this evening - and they start school next week, poor things. I still can't believe Kieran is going into grade 5...

That said, if you guys feel like coming by for dinner this weekend, or joining us for a hike in Gatineau Park, let me know.

At the very least, you'll want to purchase a fake crow, raven or vulture.

I read "fake cow" the first time. Moo.

Moo, indeed!

A fake cow would certainly be entertaining, though not quite as spooky as a crow... unless it's an Evil Cow of Satan, of course.

I used to have the exact same nightmare before christmas snow globe! Unfortunately, it got significantly damaged and wasn't really suitable for display so it went away...

Ha! You've been a pirate spirit for as long as I've known you!

Halloween plans include: a party on October 21st, taking the kids trick or treating on the actual day and then probably going to Zaphod's after the trick or treating, since Halloween falls on a Tuesday this year.

A party invite will be going out in the not-too-distant future.

Seems I can post to LJs now. Weird. Do some trick-or-treating for me! I think the best we have over here in October is Workers' Week, the only time most Chinese workers get a holiday.
