Slight guy problem to be precise (aren't they always the funnest kind?) Possibly I should have asked for advice earlier before the situation got quite so exploded-in-a-very-confused-way, but if anyone has anything for me now, please to be telling me and you will be made of win ( Read more... )

ah boys ... they are funny. particularly when they get their wee notions. think the best thing you can do is what you're doing though you just have to wait for him to cotton on that you're not interested.

did i tell you about my step-cousin dan who turned up to my dads 40th with a girl who he got to PRETEND to be his girlfriend. you know, so i wouldn't get ideas. this completely flummoxed me cos i hadn't seen him for over a year and i haven't had a proper conversation with him since i was 15, but there you go.

you know, at times you just have to be grateful for being a girl.

Yes, they are at times. Is this step-cousin the same one who was at Winstanley?

But take a look at Jav's post down there ↓ where it all kind of makes quite a bit more sense (well except the imaginary footsie issue, but that was just a bit weird anyway).

nope thank goodness tom (winstanley step cousin) is completely sane. dan's aunt is married to my step-uncle so i knew him for a while when we were in y10/11 cos that was the year of my dad and my step-uncle's weddings but not since so ... it was odd.

aye, i think that javelin's got the right idea there.

"tom (winstanley step cousin) is completely sane"

He is? But he's one of your random relatives. I thought all your ramdom relatives were insane in some way or another?

Also, I am apparently so tired I can't even read straight. I misread "dan's aunt is married to my step-uncle" as "dad's aunt is married to my step-uncle" and spent several minutes trying to work out how your step-great-aunt had managed to end up married to her own nephew, or if perhaps this was some random aunt of John's and if so how come random family members of his were in the UK, and also how the hell something so random/weird could have happened without you having mentioned it at some point.

If he does like you and has finally realised that he wont get anywhere with it then he will do his best to stay out of your way for a while, either completely or until he can get over that fact. Or he will continue being persistant.

If he aggrees to being friends so quickly then keep an eye on him becasue I don't believe I know of an instance in which that has been done honestly.

That really does make lots of sense. Thankyou :) Methinks I need to learn how guy logic works.

I hope he doesn't decide to stay out of my way completely though, because we have a several friends in common and we're both among the grand total of...7?...8?...people staying here for both semesters, and to top it off we're both going away on the same trip in...uh...10 days (eek!), which could make for some uncomfortable situations if he never wants to see me again.
