Yeah But also, an MP can table a motion called a "vote of non-confidence" (wikipediaaaaaa). This means that the government has to call a general election.
This doesn't mean that all the other parties will automatically vote against you though. (Major, for example finished his term with the support of the Ulster Unionists). If they decide not to: calling another general election may not be in their interests either unless they're convinced they can gain. It's perfectly possible then to rule as a minority government, provided you persuade the opposition to work with you on things. You can get laws passed, but you need to keep the other parties sweet.
