Yes you would have to download one of those players I've mentioned. Try downloading gom player. and then when you play the video with it, just press the command: ctrl + e
you should be able to take a screenshot. it'll directly save into the capture folder under gomplayer

Yes with gomplayer you have to take it every second. You can actually take it while the video is on pause so it's much easier. kmplayer can also take multiple shots.
And the resolution of the cap just really depends on the quality of your video :) The higher he quality, the better the cap~
