If it wasn't painfully obvious, this is Foenix13 from YouTube (Gasp, surprise, what a clever disguise!) and I saw you had an LJ, which has always been more where I post my rambling thoughts, so hope you don't mind me adding you as a friend. =)
As for the topic at hand, those costumes for next year look great. I look forward to seeing them! And they serve as a reminder that I need to get myself back to a comic convention sometime this decade...
Hey there! I don't mind at all if you add me, that's what this journal's for! :] Admittedly I don't really update often other than posting fanfiction, although one of my resolutions was to try updating more frequently... So we'll see!
And thanks, I'm really excited to start on 'em! But yes, you should definitely try to get to a convention soon! Gosh, I've been going to them steadily since '07, I can't imagine taking even a year off. Not sure if I could handle all that free time and money! ;P
Ha, yes, I *did* notice you're not the most prolific LJer, but I'll admit, I wanted to take the opportunity to maybe reply to anything interesting I might say, which is unlikely. ;)
Good to see we can both use this as an excuse to post more. I'm not much for being in front of cameras, WAY happier behind them and taking photos of others, so I do all my tv rambling in text, which I have fallen very out of doing lately. We'll see just how much we both post more in the coming year...
I really, really miss going to cons. I love taking pics of the stuff, the cosplayers, even the scenery...but the stupid economy keeps smacking me down. Slowly I am rebuilding my convention funds, though! SO slowly. Too slowly... Next step is dragging my friends along, since the worst part the last few cons my friends kept abandoning me and I had to pay for hotel rooms on my own, UGH.
See, see? I never could have said all this in one tiny YouTube comment. All hail text!
(See? I told you I'm awful at keeping up with this thing, haha!)
That's completely fair! Honestly I'm much more articulate when it comes to writing instead of speaking, but vlogging is helping to expand my comfort zone. I'm a business major which will ultimately involve a lot of public relations, so I want to be more comfortable talking in front of people and expressing my ideas through speech. But having good writing skills is always important, goodness knows it's something most people don't have in today's world!
Yes, force your friends to go! They don't know what they're missing! Ugh, I can't imagine having them drop out completely for a hotel room. I've coordinated our rooming situations for the past few cons, and man, it's a nightmare - so stressful making sure everyone gets their money in on time! I'm still waiting for someone to pay me back for our Youmacon hotel room... Pretty sure I'll never see that money, sigh. :(
