After returning from her meeting with Rufus, Hanabi spent her time training. Sooner or later she was going to run into Orochimaru, and while she had absolutely no chance of beating the Sannin, if she could at least become good enough to escape him whenever she needed to, that was a good start ( Read more... )

Toph wanders up to Hanabi, not looking very good at all. Her right sleeve is torn and she grips the arm with her left hand, trying to slow the bleeding from several deep wounds. She breathes unusually hard, like the journey to Hanabi's place had tired her out.

She decides to forget the greetings for once and get right to the point. After all, it was kind of an extreme circumstance. "Hey... didn't you say you were learning healing powers?" she mutters between breaths.

Hanabi nodded. "I am, from Kabuto. What happened, Toph? You look terrible."

Her observant eyes looked over Toph. Terrible was kind of an understatement, but there was no need to harp on the problem when she could be taking measures to fix it.

"I'm not very good yet, but between the healing techniques and first aid, I can at least help." She held the door to her home open for Toph, then mentally ran down the list of where all of her basic supplies were, and what to do for various kinds of wounds.

"Naruto happened," she responds, entering Hanabi's home. "He's a mean opponent on the battlefield. Guess I was really outmatched this time." There's a hint of disappointment and sadness in her voice.

"Naruto?" asked Hanabi, blinking for a moment. "I know he can be strong when he puts his mind to it...but you must have really been giving him a good fight if he got so carried away."

She got her first aid supplies first. "First we should take care of your wounds - get them cleaned up, and I might have to give you stitches if it's too much for me to heal at one time. Healing, I've discovered, takes intense concentration."

Hanabi took a few minutes to get her body calmed, and her chakra fully under control while Toph drank the water. Her breathing slowed, and she did very little other than simple conversation, breathing, and drinking milk.

"Basically. If it wasn't for the help Jiraiya-sama gave me, I wouldn't be able to use my chakra at all without it being a problem. However, he's one of the few people who's as knowledgable about seals as Orochimaru is. He couldn't figure out how to take it off right away, but it didn't take long for him to figure out how to keep it under control."

Rising from her chair, she looked at Toph's arm. "Let's try and get your arm fixed, now."

"So this 'Jiraiya' guy must be pretty strong, too. He as creepy as the snake guy?"

She takes another sip from the glass of water and then sets it down. "Alright, I'm ready when you are."

"Jiraiya-sama is almost as legendary for being lecherous as he is for being strong," said Hanabi, tone vaguely amused. "However, he is a much kinder person. Imagine someone with a personality a little like Naruto, only a bit more mature because he's somewhere between fifty and sixty."

Concentrating her chakra on one palm, she placed it on the wound she remembered as being the worst of them. It was probably best to fix them in order of severity. The healing chakra slowly regenerated the flesh, mending what was torn.

She feels some of the pain in her arm dissipate and breathes a small sigh of relief. "Does he always try to pick up girls with his ninja tricks?" She smirks slightly. "But jeez, he's getting kind of old, isn't he? Does he still fight?"
