I. Juniors need friends.
They knew each other since a few months already, as they entered the Jimusho at almost the same time. They were paired together in most of the photoshoots - along with Subaru, well until he decided to literally marry Tackey - and truth was they were simply together twenty hours a day, six days a week. Weirdly enough, Shingo wasn't bothered by this fact at all. Kimitaka - he was still Kimitaka back then - was a nice guy, fun and open, and Hina was proud to know that he was one of the few people knowing about Yoko's real shyness, not to talk about the rest. The older boy didn't talk about him a lot, but Hina knew, just by watching him. He wondered where they'll be in ten years, and if they would still be friends. Annoyingly enough, Aiba-kun - that guy who was always with Yoko when Shingo wasn't around - didn't seem to think about such things. He just kept on making ridiculous long-term plans, like "Kimi and I will live in the same condo when we'll be famous", or "Kimi and I should be in the same unit later", or even "Kimi is my best friend and I'll always be by his side".
Shingo was seriously starting to hate the guy.
Not that he was jealous - because that would have meant that he had a crush over Yoko, which he kept on thinking that he didn't have - but Aiba wasn't a kansai boy, and there was no way Kitagawa would make a unit mixing Tokyo and Osaka anyway, so why lure Yoko like that? It would end up like Subaru and Tackey, with shouts and angst. And Hina didn't want Kimitaka to shout or to be angsty.
So he did his best at pushing Aiba away. In subtle ways though. Like telling him "Oh, isn't that Ninomiya-kun looking for you?" or "I heard you were going to have a unit soon, with those other four guys!" - that's also how Nino and Hina became friends, because Nino wasn't stupid and he clearly saw what was goin'on in Murakami's brain - and soon enough things went the way he wanted. Aiba was a nice guy, but he was even nicer away from his friend.
He didn't realize, though, that Yoko was watching with interest and something that felt a bit like pride each time Shingo was telling Masaki to go see if Matsumoto-kun wasn't needing him somewhere else.

II. Debuting includes celebration.
- We're debuting, Hina! We're going to be idols!
Half-asleep on his bed, Shingo opened his eyes wide when Yoko came in his room in Osaka, almost screaming in happiness and bouncing around. It wasn't a rare sight to see his friend happy, but it was still a bit special when they were just the two of them, because the older one acted more naturally than when the others were with them. Hina knew it and cherished those moments like no others.
- What-Are you sure?
- Yes! They said we'll have a live and a debut song by the end of the month! Isn't that great!
Hina grinned and stood up to hug his friend, who hugged him back with little cheerful noises. Never would they have hugged like that in front of the others, but Shingo knew that, at least for this evening, he'll have Kimitaka only for himself. That was making him feeling great, for some unknown reasons.
- We're finally going to be rich, the taller boy said. We'll be the next SMAP!
- I thought Arashi were the new SMAP?
Yoko giggled.
- We'll be the new V6 then!
He was about to reply something, when Yuu's phone rang. Uchi and Ryo wanted him to come with them at the restaurant to celebrate. Hina frowned; that would mean no more special time with Yoko. For once, he decided to be selfish and took the phone.
- Sorry guys, Yoko and I already have plans, but we'll celebrate that tomorrow, okay?
- But-but-but, started Uchi, and Hina could already see him pout cutely.
- And anyway, Shingo added, it wouldn't be fun with just the four of us, right?
He knew that the baby of the band didn't ask him to be there too, but it would be a good way to tell him to back off. No Yokoyama without Murakami for today, get it? Somewhere behind Uchi, Ryo gave a little laugh that said "yeah right, of course, I see what you're doing there" and when he hung up, Yoko was looking at him with a smirk.
- We have plans?
- Y-yeah. We'll stay here, and as my parents are going to the movies tonight, I'll make you dinner. Extra big dinner.
- With miso and onigiri?
- Even with pasta if you want.
Yoko squealed in happiness. Shingo sighed and smiled, wondering when and how the hell he got so possessive over the older guy.

III. Units are made of love.
It's not that he didn't like the other members, far from it - they're family to him - but when duets units where chosen this time, there was absolutely no way that he and Maru would leave Yoko to Yasu and Subaru - who would turn him in a girly boy with ribbons and sad love songs - or to Ryo and Ohkura - who would make him even more snarky and would dress him like a gigolo, not to talk about the groping that could be involved. The mere thought of it made Hina cringe. No way this could happen, and Ryuhei seemed to agree with him anyway.
So as they were sitting around the white table in their changing room, all discussing what to do with the Black Ranger - who kept on saying that he didn't care who he ended up with, as long as they let him finish this boss in the game - Shingo tried to make his point. But he couldn't say a word as Shota, all cheerful as always, stood up, a finger pointed to the ceiling.
- Okay, he said, then Yokocho will sing with Shibuyan and I!
Tacchon smiled and nodded silently, and Ryo looked like he couldn't care less. Those two were happy together anyway, with their porn-like dances and more-than-friendly touching.
But Hina wasn't going to leave it like that.
- No, he simply said, earning silence in the room.
Shota raised an eyebrow, lips forming a thoughtful "o", before hanging his head on the side.
- Shin-chan? What did you say?
Shingo turned for support to Maru, who gave a knowing smirk, and said again:
- No.
Ryo growled.
- What, what do you mean? I thought we were done with this-
- Yoko will come with us, Hina said proudly.
Next to him, arms crossed on his chest, Maru nodded happily. Subaru giggled.
- Fine, I don't mind.
- I do, Yasu said, glaring slightly at the band's tsukkomi. What if I want to sing with Yoko?
- Next time, Hina replied. This time, he's ours.
From the couch where he was playing with his PSP, Yuu let out a small high-pitched laugh.
- You sound like a jealous girlfriend, Ohkura pointed out.
Hina blushed. Maru chuckled. Shota glared. Yoko turned off his gaming device.
- Okay, I'll go with Hina and Maru then.
The hardest thing at this moment for Shingo was to stop himself from bouncing in the room.

IV. Birthdays are made to party.
The great thing in birthday parties, is that the birthday boy is allowed to do whatever he wants, as long as he looks like he's having fun. With that fact in mind, Shingo couldn't pass the opportunity to actually have fun in his own surprise birthday party - he'll have to thank Yokocho for that later - and the considerable amount of alcohol he might or might not have drank is part of said fun. Of course, being so drunk that he couldn't stop kissing everybody wasn't in the recipe, but he wasn't complaining, neither were the others as far as he could feel it. They knew that a plastered Murakami Shingo was a rare thing, so they went along with him, though Shibuyan was still following him everywhere like a mother in case he would trip in his own feet.
Anyway, somewhere in the part of his drunk mind, Hina decided to finally confess his undying love for Yoko; he may have made a mistake as he ended up confessing to Subaru instead of his dear Yokocho, but, once again, no one cared, all thinking that it was just because of the alcohol. That's when he decided that kisses should be involved (Subaru protested as he was actually using him to train himself at kissing a bandmate, so he might have bit him in the process).
- Yokocho…
Sitting on the couch, watching Ryo and Maru goofing on some random TOKIO songs, said Yokocho turned his head just in time to receive a lap full of Murakami. Too bad that Ohkura was already sitting half on his lap, laughing as he was watching Yasu imitating Ryo.
- Oi, Hina growled, get lost Tacchon.
Ohkura glared. Not that he was particularly fond of Yokoyama, but he was still pissed at Hina for not choosing him sooner when they sang the Christmas songs. So there.
- I was here first.
- The hell, Shingo growled again, slapping the youngest on the head; this place is mine, I've known him for longer than you!
Yoko may or may not have giggled at that. Subaru was looking at them with a bit of worry, scared that things would go out of control - because to him a drunk Hina wasn't a good thing to leave him without supervision - but eventually Shota put his hand on Subaru's shoulder in a reassuring way and the lead singer relaxed. For a very short span of time, as Ohkura decided to push Shingo and to claim one of Yoko's legs.
- Mine, I said.
Hina frowned.
- I'm going to kill you slowly and painfully, he said in a very serious tone.
Maru and Ryo stopped singing. Shota gulped. Subaru flailed. Ohkura stared. Yuu burst out in laughter. Shingo blinked at his friend.
- What?
- You're so funny! You're totally acting like a jealous girlfriend! It's awesome!
Hina may or may not have kissed Yoko to make him shut up at that moment.

V. Shows bring talks.
Hina would never have thought that he would end up publically fighting over Yoko - kind of - but somehow it happened. On a Recomen show, no more no less. With Subaru laughing next to him, too. But it's not something he could have helped, as Yuu, in full preparation of his second solocon, had been called on his phone when he was having dinner with Hachimitsu.
Hachimitsu who ended up saying something he shouldn't.
- It's been a while, Subaru said, Kansai-ben going out naturally.
- Yeah, Hacchan replied, laughing a bit, and sorry about our Yokoyama-kun causing you trouble-
This didn't make two seconds to reach Shingo's brain. He could feel a pang of possessiveness rush straight to his heart and guts.
- No-no, he almost shouted, OUR Yokoyama!
Subaru looked at him with a smirk. Hina blinked, realizing what he had just said, and blushed.
This time, he was doomed in front of all the country. Yuu would avoid him for a few days now. But God bless Shibuyan for being himself, as he started to sing-song.
- Ours~ ours~, he's ours~
Shingo bit back a sigh of relief.
- Don't take him, he asked Hacchan with a forced laugh, okay?
Now all he could do was to turn this into a joke or something. He couldn't know, though, that Yoko had blushed as much as he did when Hachimitsu told him what Shingo said.

IV. Fights are not always needed.
The spring days were slowly starting to get warmer, and Shingo liked that. He liked the weather, the long days, the barbecues on the beach, the fireworks in summer. He also liked the way everybody would wear less clothes, him included.
Little did he know that someone else liked that.
Standing shirtless in front of the window of the hotel room he shared with Maru, Hina smiled as kids were passing by, playing and shouting at each other, their schoolbags on their backs. When the door closed behind him, he didn't even need to turn around, knowing who it would be.
Or at least he thought so.
- You look good like that.
Startled, Hina turned to face Yoko, hands in his pants' pockets.
- Oh, it's you.
- Don't talk as if you weren't happy to see me, Yuu whined with an unhappy face.
The younger one chuckled. Yoko smiled.
- I mean it you know.
- About what?
Looking down, Yoko shrugged.
- You. You look good like that, with the light behind you. I mean… Well you know what I mean. I guess.
Shingo raised an eyebrow.
- Are you telling me something nice? Wow, I don't know what to say…
- So obviously Gorillas don't know how to talk then…
Hina walked to him and slapped him on the head with a little laugh.
- You I swear-
He couldn't finish his sentence as Yoko grabbed his wrist and pulled him closer, kissing him softly. When it was done, Hina stared, his face still a few centimeters away from Yoko's.
- W-what…
- Damn you, the older man whispered. You always look good. Makes me want to kiss you.
It was then Shingo's turn to kiss him, his hand placing itself naturally on Yoko's neck, while Yoko's free hand was sneaking around his waist and pulling him closer.
There was a noise behind them, and Maru's voice in the room.
- Oh-Oh sorry guys, I didn't-I'll leave you two alone-Just tell me next time!
Yoko turned to the door just in time to see it close itself, and pouted.
- Not fair, I thought I would see you fight for me once again. Maru is too nice.
Hina just smiled and resumed the kissing.
Sometimes fights aren't needed.
