"And what I'm seeing is super, super cute" 2/? Rachel/Will

Thank you guys so much for your comments on part 1! I didn't expect to get any... It was my first time and it was really short, but you made my day by commenting =)

Here's part 1 if you haven't read it yet: i-longtobe.livejournal.com/746.html

Rachel Berry was the type of girl who knew what she wanted, and she wanted one Will Schuester.

She was also the type of girl who would read too much into things - like the other night in the car when he was so obviously staring at her. He wanted her too, and she knew it.

So when Suzy Pepper approached her in the girl's washroom the next day, she realized one thing: she needed to change the way Mr. Schuester - Will - viewed her. This was no longer a schoolgirl crush, but a girl - no, a woman - in pursuit of a man.

Sure, she wasn't the most popular of girls, and though her nose wasn't quite as bad as Barbra's, it was slightly bigger than average. But she had a hot body, and she knew it. Plus, she couldn't discount how much she and Mr. Shue had in common. They were both extremely talented... Granted, sometimes his dance moves were a little cheesy, but this was a high school glee club after all, and while she could obviously handle more complicated choreography, she wasn't sure her uncoordinated teammates could. In fact, she was sure they couldn't. They lacked her (and Mr. Schuester's) years of extensive training.

Anyways, now that she had his attention, she had to play it cool. This was something she'd never done before - she didn't have much experience in dating - but she was a talented actress and was positive she could pull it off.

So, she started off small by wearing a short skirt the next day (sure, it wasn't exactly a deal-breaker, but Will obviously loved her legs). She'd also read somewhere that ignoring him would make him crazy, so she did, the entire day, and during rehearsal. (Except, of  course, when she was stealthily looking for his reaction, and she liked what she saw.)

Maybe she was going too far to assume that he'd called practice short that day because of her, but the look of desperation in his eyes as she walked past him required all her available willpower to keep from screaming right then and there.

She'd been tortured long enough; now, it was his turn.

The next day, sometime before lunch, Rachel was making her way towards the auditorium when she spotted Miss Pillsbury's unmistakable red hair and almost neon cardigan from down the hall. Normally she wouldn't have noticed, except, of course, for the fact that she was talking to Will.

It's okay. They work together. They're bound to talk sometimes...

However, she didn't have time to check if he was flirting or just talking, because before she knew what was happening, her feet were moving in their direction. Thinking quickly, she dropped the books she was carrying on the floor behind Mr. Schuester. He turned around, and picked them up without even glancing at her first. But when his eyes met hers, he smiled shyly and stuttered, "Ra-Rachel!"

"Thanks Mr. Schue" she said with a sly grin, and congratulated herself at how smooth she was being. When he stood up, she had to look up to meet his eyes, which remained on her the entire time. He just stood there staring at her as though he might never get another chance.

Miss Pillsbury cleared her throat.

"I'll catch up with you later, Emma." He said, without so much as a glance in her direction. Will handed Rachel her books.

"Thanks again" she said, as she squeezed his arm lightly, allowing the encounter to linger for a few seconds too long, and continued on her way to the auditorium.

Problem solved.

Rachel was surprised at how easy this was, so she decided it was time to try and connect with him on a level other than just physical attraction. That day, she planned to approach him after rehearsal, but he beat her to it.

"Rachel," he called as everyone was getting ready to leave, and motioned her in his direction.

"Yes, Mr. Schuester?" She asked.

"Great job today, as usual."

"Well you've gotten pretty good at running the club, I guess I've run out of things to complain about" She joked, and he smiled.

"I have an ulterior motive for calling you over here," He confessed. "I was wondering if you would like to help me out with a few things during lunch for the rest of the month?"

Her smile faded quickly as she pieced one and two together.

"What's wrong?" He asked, a worried look on his face.

She looked around, and upon discovering that the room had cleared out, she said, "It's just that...this means you've noticed that I eat lunch by myself. That I'm a loser."

She couldn't believe how honest she was being, how quickly she'd ruined things. She regretted saying it immediately.

"Rachel, you're not a loser. You're just more mature than most of the kids in this school. You know what you want, and you go for it." He assured her, emphasizing the word "mature", and took a small step toward her.

She stared at the floor, despite her recognition that his body was now inches away from hers, because she knew that as soon as she faced him she would start to cry. But he placed his index finger under her chin and softly lifted her face to meet his. She was painfully aware of the fact that he was touching her, and she longed for something more.

"Rachel, you don't deserve to feel this way."

"What do I deserve?" She asked, hopefully.

"Everything you've ever wanted." He blurted out.

Including you? She wanted to ask, but she bit her tongue. He must know. He must know what he just said... What was implied...

"Thank you, Mr. Schue," she said, with a half-smile, and wrapped her arms around  him, her heartbeat almost doubling. He just pulled her in tighter.

Maybe this is more than just physical attraction...

"Oh, and Mr. Schue? I'd be happy to help."
