that sucks. I am happy that the year is starting off well for you! Junior year for everyone seems to be the year peoplereally look at their collge life and start apperciating it. I miss college a lot right now, for no better reason then I dont have a job yet, and at least in college it would still feel like I am living life, compred to just sitting around basically. It may be hard for you when your in Costa Rica, but in the end you will be happy you did it, so try and not stress too much about too much.
