If I remember correctly, subtract and screen are equal to exclusion, so you wouldn't even need to the screen layer.

When I said that I meant that having a subtract layer and a screen layer is equal to an exclusion layer. I didn't mean one or the other. Does that make sense?

it's a great tut. i tried it out on a few bases. i think the images i chose were too dark for this tut but i did have one turn out very pretty.
