Well...my (and my families') worst nightmare has happened. My brother Nick is engaged to his absolutely horrible girlfriend of 5 years. I knew it was coming, but it still hit me so hard. exactly.but the thing is he CAN do better. He is amazing. he is so nice, funny,smart, cool, etc. She doesn't deserve him and he deserves so much better than her.I wish I could make him realize it.

That's a crazy shitty situation. My friend actually went through something kind of similar recently...his mom married his (now) step-dad, who he despises for many many reasons. He was of course asked to be in the wedding and went back and forth about if he should be in it or not. He was, eventually, but had a long-ass talk with his mom about why he is not in favor of the marriage.
And, you know...there's always the ever-rising numbers in divorce statistics. Comforting, no?

i really feel for you. my brother dated a girl like that... she was AWFUL. In fact, I hated her so much, my parents wanted me to go to anger management because they were afraid i was going to ruin my relationship with my brother, possibly hurt myself, and almost definitely do some harm to that thing he was dating. my mom called her "charlie chaplin" as a nickname behind her back because that was her nice way of calling her "a little tramp". anyway, he finally woke up after she called him (post break up) to say she thought she might be pregnant. i was ready to kill her. thankfully, she wasn't, so we weren't stuck with her and her hellspawn. if your brother hasn't woke up yet, maybe he will when they start planning the wedding... cuz that chick sounds like a real bridezilla. if all else fails, you could start to terrorize her.

My dads brother, Gary, married a witch...she converted him to Southern Baptist & now we only see him, her, & my 5 cousins every five to six years. At my cousin Caleb's wedding last summer...Mary-Ellen made my (and Caleb's) grandfather along with the rest of Gary's family sit behind the reserved section for everyone immediate (or not immediate) who was related to Mary-Ellen. Cute, right? If your brother wants it to happen, it will happen...but, I hope for your (and your family's)sake that it doesn't.

Your bro seems smarter than Gary in general, so maybe if you all si with him & have a nice talk he'll snap out of it. Good Luck, love!
