i think you'll like this, despite how long it is: my persuasion professor broke his leg and had to miss class for a month. the day he got back, he gave this lecture

Despite the agony, I could see my foot was angled too far over. I braced my leg against the concrete and smacked my thigh - my foot snapped back into place. I howled for my wife. We went to the ER. My leg was broken in two places - one which was my ankle. Not only that - I needed surgery. They needed to pin and wire my foot back together. 5-8 weeks in a cast and physical therapy for even longer after that

Wow. I can't believe it took me so long to actually read this, but I'm glad I did.
What a wise man, and I am definitely going to read up on Pema Chodron.
Also, I learned something called mindfullness... thought you might be interested. It's centering all of your attention on one thing during moments of high anxiety. Taking a mental break to focus on physical stimulus... such as placing your hand on a cold window and thinking about nothing but how the cold feels on your skin, or touching soft sheets... something along those lines. It kinda works for me, but not always... let me know if you have/will try this.
What's funny is this- the day when one realizes truly within themselves that being "fat" doesn't matter, you become free. Free like the most free creature you can think of. And the truly amazing thing is this- you've never been fat, you've always been one of the most gorgeous women I know- both inside and out. From what little life experience I have, I know that you're going to be great in whatever you do or set your mind to accomplish. I'd want you in my corner if things got rough and I've got my money bet on you. I'll keep you in the corner of my eye always. I've always believed in you and eventually you'll find a person who respects and loves you for you, realizes how special you are- and then, make sure you hold onto them. Because that's what you deserve. Hope you're doing well Adara- miss you.
