Sweet & Sour Pork

I haven't made it in a while, and trying to find something new to try to make given the limited range of ingredients (and limited ability in reading Japanese) is pretty difficult.

Instead, I followed a recipe my parents found for me when I last went home, and tried it out.

It's not a chore when you have the internet or a whole bookshelf of cookbooks! reading cooking blogs really help with the inspirations too. =)

Your sweet and sour pork looks yummy!

I love cooking; so I don't know how people think it's a chore. It's so fun! :O

It kinda is when it isn't shared around, and you have a limited number of stuff to work with >_< Japan doesn't exactly have heaps of food readily available, and even if it did, it'd require planning ahead of time, which isn't something I'm terribly good at either :P

I'm awful at planning. But think of it as being creative and fun. But then again I keep a ridiculous amount of food stocked up in cupboards (as Hamish and Zaid can confirm) in order to randomly cook stuff.

looks yum. it can be a chore with limited ingredients and inspiration.

i find that if you think about how you're going to cook something, the ideas start to flow. usually, it happens on my way home from work. going shopping and buying one thing you wouldn't normally buy is also a good way of trying something new.

Huh. That's an idea to try out :) Probably should try my hand at making more Japanese and Chinese food while I'm here too :)
