Summary: Bill and Lee share a drink, and Bill gains some new perspective on an old habit.  Yep, it's a ring fic.  I couldn't resist.  Set sometime shortly after the events of Deadlock, so spoilers through 4x16.  Thanks once again to unavitasegreta  for all her help and for being generally awesome.

I think that is a very fine list, especially this Both of them to live. And while I think that is unlikely, I think I can deal with that as long as we get items 1, 2, and 3. All of the above will definitely inspire me! :)

I'm glad you enjoyed it. And, like you, I really don't care about a wedding. I just want the sentiment that he is wearing the ring with her in mind now (and that she knows that) clearly conveyed onscreen. It's not so much to ask I think.

Oh, that was lovely. Lee's gentle and not-so-gentle nudging of his father was perfect.

That was just what I needed after the massive depressingness (it's a word) that has been the last few eps. Now I need a sequel. :)

I absolutely adore that moment. I've watched it about 30 or so times. Talk about improving on the original.

I rewatched the episode and loved it even more the second time. And that moment is utter gold. Exciting and touching all at once. Katee Sackhoff really ripped my heart out with her realization that Slick was Head!Dad and that she was connected somehow to half-Cylon Hera.

I really liked how you explored why Bill wears that ring. It has everything to do with commitments...but mostly to do with his own failings. I enjoyed the mental journey you took him through. I think it was lovely and really well done!

I'm impressed that you read this. I figured you'd boycott a ring fic. ;-P I'm really glad you enjoyed it. I tried to explore the reason he has always worn the ring while also conveying that the meaning of the ring had already changed for him, that he just hadn't really processed that yet. :)

After all that buildup, how could I boycott? Besides, I only boycott very specific things...which I shall not list here. But I can enjoy just about anything if it's done well. And this was. :D

And his reasons for that ring changed a long, long time ago...
