I had an experience on Saturday that still irks me.
At a company event, there was free food - with tickets - and I was standing in line with a baby on my hip in the sun waiting my turn.  The vendor called next and someone from behind me came rushing up waving her tickets.  I spoke up.  "We've all been waiting here."

I had an experience like this at Maker Faire - there was a chocolate company from SF giving out samples, and a long line queuing in front of their booth, and some hipster transexual cut in front of me and like 20 people. When I tapped them (it was inobvious which gender they were professing) on the arm they turned on me and I tried to explain that there was a line. They then shouted at me that they were deaf, and when I started signing "there is a line!" they then sniffed snarkily at me "Sorry, I don't speak 'stupid'" and then grabbed a handful of chocolate and ran off.

The only sign I could manage to their retreating back was the middle finger.

last time a person cut in line in front of me i stepped in front of him and *very loudly* reminded him that there was a line for "civilized people to stand in."

when the line-violator protested i laughed and "aren't you civilized?"

he wasn't happy. but he left.
