I popped my head into some pop music lately (blame Sirius XM) to find that there are melodies again - and there are story songs again.  I wandered away in the rap era.  It didn't appeal to me.

a lot of the pop music is about getting drunk in clubs or objectifying body parts etc (Usher singing "I don't mind if you dance on a pole, it don't make you a ho") I don't want to have to discuss that in detail with Pounce.
