Puberty might better be described as metamorphosis. The being that existed prior to this life-altering event is one thing; the sentient thing that comes out on the other end may be called "human"...but I think that's a distinction that still needs to be earned.

I believe she made this suggestion because I am attempting to get up the nerve to learn poi. I have a goal for minimal technique to be acquired so I can be part of three minutes of randomness next month. Any suggestions?

Hey... well hello to you too.

I say if you want to learn Poi go for it... where are you located I'm sure you can find a teacher close to you. I would caution you to not do ANYTHING on fire till you are completely comfortable with them (this may take more then a month). Or at the very least make sure you only do movies that you are comfortable with (in other words not hitting yourself in the face... too many people have one bad experience and never go back) and make sure to have a trained (and well prepared) safety with you the first time you light up.
