Watched Blood Diamond tonight and had the same reaction as I did to Hotel Rwanda.... I couldn't cry. Normally, nearly any movie not a comedy can make me cry (even Lilo and Stitch), but these two, it just didn't happen.

Accountability is an interesting thing. It seems as though many people think that just because it isn't socially normal to do something they just shouldn't do it or more importantly "it won't make a difference".
You can always make your world (world=you,future family,friends) accountable and very reflective of what you want to see in the world, that way maybe we can influence and be an example of how "We can make a difference" owa we can!

And then it mentioned how that tradition is changing. Movies like "Blood Diamond" are really raising awareness about the suffering that goes hand-in-hand with the diamond trade, and diamond "consumers" are taken aback by the reality. Apparently one of the most common questions you'll hear in U.S. jewelry stores right now is, "Where did these diamonds come from?"
If this trend continues, we can expect? or hope? that this will have a big impact on the industry -- and a positive one for the people who have suffered for so long. Much love. +mojan.
