Sound asleep after a long day of Spring plantings, Samwise began to stir uneasily. A dark cloud began to creep into his peaceful dreaming of a sunlit Party Tree, spreading like a dark ink blot to cover the whole of the field . . . Murmuring fitfully in his sleep, Sam rolled over and slipped his arm almost protectively over his Rose. The dream faded but a forboding lingered . . .

Somewhere far away, the sky rumbled with thunder that sounded almost like laughter. The Ring could sense the hobbit's unease and it revelled in the hobbit's fear. The time for an attack was not yet to come, but when it did, the Ring would enjoy the screams of the hobbits in the Shire.

Yeah, yeah, death and destruction. Do you even realize how many deities, entities, and other freaks of nature you are going to have to stand in line behind to achieve your goal?

The words have a good poetic edge, though. Care to take a closer look?

Tell me, have you ever had the urge to see beyond this world? To experience new frontiers, new horizons? To explore new avenues of...well, shall we say...adventure?

I always welcome a chance to find more victims. What do you have in mind, Mr. Morden?

"What a shiny ring.." Ranuccio picks it up and bites it. "True gold," says, then gives it a good lick and puts it down quickly, careful and trying to see if the owner might be around. If not, he'll put it in his mouth and hide it till he's home.
