Last night, Karina came into her room where I was watching tv and said it smelled like smoke. We went outside and it was raining large chunks of ash so we turned on the news only to discover there was a fire burning in Sylmar. Yikes, that's awful... I remember there was ONE time in Glendale when the fires somewhere were bad enough to coat my area in ash and it felt so gross... But it was nothing like this photo... I'm sorry you and Karina have to be so close to that and inhale it and everything... Not to mention how terrifying it must be to have everything you own so close to fire... I'd be taking an Ativan every ten minutes if my stuff was that close to fire...

just got back from vegas...had NO IDEA it was this bad! it was pretty hazy all the way home and the scenery disappeared round about pasadena. its ok in burbank, but i guess it depends on how the wind is blowing! they seem to be getting things under control in sylmar, maybe we should all just pray for rain at this point!
